Fat: 20-35% (no more than 10% of daily calories are saturated fats)
Overweight adults fat intake: 15-20 % of daily calories
Sodium: less than 1,500 mg is recommended
Fiber: 30 g of fiber is recommended daily
Recommendations for carbohydrate consumption for people with type 2 diabetes are similar to those for patients with type 1 diabetes. Carbohydrate and monounsaturated fat should comprise 60-70% of total calories.
