I wanted to send you a short note to thank you for all your help. Before I met with you and discovered my food sensitivities.
I had spent a lot of time trying to figure out why the area around both of my eyes, my neck and mouth was red, swollen and very sore. Over the course of several months, I had to take oral and topical steroids for my symptoms, had patch testing for household products at the dermatologist, and blood testing for environmental allergies and common food allergies. When none of those tests helped I was back at another dermatologist for a second opinion and was given several creams with a diagnosis of contact dermatitis. I am thankful that you continued to encourage me down the path of thinking that it could very well be something in my diet that was causing these debilitating symptoms. At some points, I honestly did not even want to leave the house. I hadn’t really changed my diet, so of course I was skeptical at first that the blood tests you performed would find any answer.
However, I could not be more happy that the results from your test revealed that at the age of 52, I had suddenly developed food sensitivities with dairy being the most extreme. Your follow-up diet advice was also very helpful in confirming the sensitivity and for giving me options to substitute for the dairy items that I so enjoyed. Just masking a few changes in my diet has literally changed everything. I have no more outbreaks and am back to normal again. I couldn’t have done it without you!

It’s been life-changing. Although I had to give up my favorite food, which is eggs, I don’t fear the dining hall at school anymore and it’s actually helped me get back into shape after having gained weight due to a medication.
People ask me how I found out that I’m “allergic” to eggs and I get to tell them about the testing, and all my Pre-Med friends think it is so fascinating!
