February 2020 Newsletter
Coming back from a week of absorbing the newest research/trends/health outcomes at the Integrative Healthcare Symposium in NY, I can share that Nutrition, specifically an Anti- Inflammatory Diet concept is it!
While I have been trying to figure out the healthiest way of eating since 22 years, working on my own health and the health of my family, it is all confirmed, backed up by science, and continuously researched while I am writing.... I have been preaching these topics to my clients since many years now, with fabulous physical outcomes, the idea of an Anti- inflammatory Diet paired with an acid/alkaline balance through a vegetable dominant diet, and gastro-intestinal health improvements. Now these topics are at the forefront of health recommendations and promoted by the leaders in the Integrative Medical community.
I had the amazing opportunity to talk to and learn from Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Rob Silverman, Dr. Austin Perlmutter, Dr. David Perlmutters son, Dr. Christopher Bump, and Dr. Alessio Fasano. My head is still spinning! I also supported KBMO Diagnostics at their booth while checking and working on their mealplans before the conference started and long into night hours.
Dr. Mark Hyman, the Keynote speaker, talking about his newest book, the Food Fix, assesses with no-nonsense our food system. Please order it fast. It is eye-opening!

Here are a few Nutrition recommendations from him that I 100 % agree with  in my recommendations to my clients:

  • Eat mostly whole plants. Think plant rich, not necessarily plant based.
  • Go easy on fruit. If fit and healthy, more fruit is fine, low-glycemic fruits are preferable, sweeter ones as a treat.
  • Eat healthy fats, like avocado, nuts, seeds, avocado oil for cooking, olive oil for cold use, fish, and saturated fats from healthy 100 % grass fed/grass-finished/sustainably raised meat.
  • Eat more nuts and seeds.
  • Choose regeneratively raised meat whenever possible. Vegetables should take center stage, and meat should be a side dish.
  • Eat pasture-raised eggs.
  • Eat sustainably raised or harvested low-mercury fish and high-omega-3 fish.
  • Eat only unprocessed or minimally processed whole grains. All grains increase blood sugar. Stick with 1/2 cup 1-2x a day of low-glycemic grains like black rice, quinoa, teff, amaranth, and buckwheat. You can eat organic wheat berries, but stay away from other wheat- products in general.
  • Eat beans if your digestive system is ok with it.
  • No sugar!
  • Stay away from refined oils like canola, sunflower, corn, grapeseed, soybean.
  • Choose the right dairy. 75 % of the world population is lactose intolerant! Always go organic and grass-fed if you choose to eat dairy.
  • Stay away from pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, food additives, hormones, and GMO foods.
  • Eat for our planet. For more information, please buy the Food Fix!

I have a few news to share:
Since 5 years I am working as the Head Nutritionist for KBMO Diagnostics's world-wide providers and patients, delivering thousands of meal plans with a team of 10 meal planners and one manager to KBMO, which led me to offer the FIT Test to my clients, with incredible success and health improvements for all. Please go to my website and read testimonials.
Dr. Joel Evans, the Medical Director of KBMO Diagnostics, who is a leader in the Functional Medicine field and in the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy that I just graduated from as a Certified Functional Medicine Coach, is interviewed by Dr. Silverman about the FIT Test and the impact of Food Sensitivities.
Please take the time to watch and call me if you think it is time to redo your test to see how much your sensitivities improved and what has changed.
I always encourage my clients to rotate food around.
Eat a variety of foods to lessen reactions to foods!

The FIT Test (Food Inflammation Test) will be changed up a bit soon.

Due to popular demand, we are adding the following foods in our FIT 132 Test:
  • Butternut Squash
  • Seabass
  • Quinoa
  • Lamb
  • Whey
Because of these additions, we are removing the following:
  • Safflower seed
  • Cotton seed
  • Squash Mix
  • Kola nut
  • Catfish

You all have been asking me about supplements.
As I see such strong reactions to food, and I am not a Medical Doctor, I am hesitant to recommend supplements, which are very potent substances. For maintenance, and also for healing, my family and I use a company that I find outstanding in research,
in safety and in price/value ratio.

Featured: Patient One Formulas MediNutritionals
Patient One Formulas MediNutritionals offers a variety of supplements, with all pieces of information added, which I love for my clients. We are sensitive human beings, and all ingredients matter. Please go to the Patient1Formulas website to learn about the detailed information a supplement should offer.
During the conference I attended, I met with the owners of the company and discussed how I can make the supplements available to all of you.

Please discuss your choices with your medical doctors, as I am not giving recommendations to my clients. I am just offering you all access to these supplements for your personal use. Always research on your own what supplements could be beneficial to your health too! That includes searching for possible side-effects for your health condition!
Patient One's premier line of MediNutritionals are available exclusively through healthcare professionals. Please read what the company has to say about their products:
